Detailed Features

Selecting the remote Zone

The remote ZONE is selected as the first USER parameter, quick access is provided by pressing select and override together. Hold down ‘override button’ and turn the knob to select the remote ZONE number. Use select and the knob to scroll to ROOM, REQD, DMND, if any of these are displayed then the controller is synchronised with the remote zone, use the buttons and knob as normal, there will be a slight delay, 0.2 second, as data is retrieved from the remote node.

Setting the AREA list

The Multi Zone Display can be restricted to display only certain Zones. A list of AREA's can be setup which defines which zone number is in each AREA. The Zones can be listed in any order so the AREA list can be made to match existing site documentation for example Fire Zones or building numbers. Once the AREA list has been setup the ZONE display is replaced with the AREA display and only Zones contained in the Area List can be selected.
The Area List is set by changing the first two configuration variables:
C1 SETA Set Area Index
C2 SETZ Set Zone into Area List
Fist set the Area List Index, then set the associated Zone number, do not leave gaps in the list, enter zero for the Zone number to erase an entry.

Configuration Parameters

Access to Configuration parameters is provided , for convenience a ZONE parameter has been added to the Configuration parameter list before the Subnet display this allows the engineer to check which Zone he is changing and also change the selected Zone without leaving Configuration mode. Setting Zone to zero switches focus to the parameters within the Multi Zone Display.

Occupancy Override and Setpoint.

The override button will change the occupancy state of the selected controller, turning the knob will adjust the setpoint. The setpoint changed will be the mid point setpoint, if setpoint deadbands are setup then the setpoint displayed under REQD will be offset by the current amount of the deadband.

Time Profiles

All time functions are supported, the display may show 00:00 briefly while the controller waits for the remote data. The holiday display, suitcase and seagull show the status of the remote zone. Adjust holidays in the normal manner.

Password Protection

Password protection has been added as an optional extra, this is only active if a password is setup at config C210 PASS. The password is any four digit number.
If the controller is in the locked mode the display will show LOCK, in this mode only the select button is active. Pressing select, displays PIN _ _ _ _, press and hold override to enter the first digit, which is displayed PIN 0 _ _ _, turn the knob to adjust the number. Release and re-press override to move to the next digit. When you move off the last digit the password is checked, if correct normal operation is resumed. If more than 15 attempts are made then the controller will enter the BLOCKED mode , the display will show BLCK and no operations are possible without clearing the blocked state using InSite.
If no keys have been pressed for 10 minutes, adjustable using config C211 TOMN (TimeOut MiNutes), the controller will enter the locked state again.
The security status of the controller can be viewed and cleared using config C212 LCKS (LoCK Status), 0 not locked, 1 Locked, 3 Blocked.

Setting, Changing Password

The controller must be unlocked before the password can be changed. If no password has been setup then this routine can be used to set the initial password.
Press and hold Override and then momentarily press Holiday.
The display will show NPIN _ _ _ _ enter a password as above, once the password has been entered once the display will change to CPIN _ _ _ _ if the same password is entered then the password will be updated to the new value. If a different number is entered then the cycle will repeat until two consecutive entries have been made of the same number.
Note setting the password to 0000 will disable the password feature.

Global Button Locking

The controller can be configured to prevent the operation of the buttons on all other (at present only Zones and issue 4d secondary controllers) controllers. A configuration variable C213 GLBL Global Lock, when set, causes the controller to send a global message to all controllers which sets their config variable C85 LCKB Lock Buttons. This message is sent when the Multi Zone Display changes to a Locked State, the Buttons are unlocked when the Multi Zone Display changes to the Unlocked State.

Global Setpoint Trim

The MultiMaster Controller can generate a Global setpoint trim which is broadcast to Configuration parameter C86 on all controllers. At present only issue 4d Zone products will respond and apply the Trim to their setpoints.
The Trim needs to be enabled by setting Switch 6 GTON (GlobalTrim ON) at each of the receiving controllers.
The Trim is calculated based on Outside temperature; the parameters for creating the Trim are to be found as follows:
parameter

description
C214
OTMX
Outside temperature maximum
C215
OTMN
Outside temperature mimimum
C216
GTMX
Global Trim maximum
C217
GTMN
Global Trim minimum
C218
GLBT
Current Global Trim value
When the outside temperature is at or above OTMX then the trim will be as specified by GTMX. As the Outside temperature varies between OTMX and OTMN the Trim will vary between GTMX and GTMN. For Outside temperature below OTMN the Trim will be GTMN. The value assigned to GTMX does not have to be larger than GTMN so positive and negative slopes can be obtained.
If GTMX and GTMN are zero the Trim is disabled globally.

Zone Numbers

This controller takes a Zone address and needs to be registered before it will operate. If ZONE is set to its own zone number then it will automatically be incremented by one to prevent attempts to talk to itself.
There is no limit to how many Multi Zone Displays you can have on a system.
